Today’s premiere comes from Dutch singer-songwriter Lukas Batteau, with the video for his new single – ‘Dance For The Dead’ – out June 23rd in the UK. The single is a promising upbeat prelude to the album Wasteland, scheduled for later this year.

Lukas grew up in South Korea, The Netherlands, and America, finding his talent for music at the age of 15. His first official release came in 2008 and since then he has performed at venues such as Paradiso and Melkweg in Amsterdam and Ekko and Tivoli in his home town. He briefly toured the US, playing at the famous New York club The Livingroom and has opened for international artists like Tracy Bonham, Gomez and Megafaun.

In this track the driving banjo is accompanied by Lukas’ soulful voice resulting in a wistfully melodic sound. The lo-fi nostalgic video, comprised of old tourism footage, is the perfect accompaniment.
