Sipping on his Italian roast Kroger brand coffee, Steve Savage peeks his way through the steam rising from cups rim to give a peaceful smile. ” Now that’s a good cup of coffee. Nice and strong like the Europeans like it.” Europe, in fact, is where he has spent the majority of the past years touring, playing and developing his sound. The self titled debut release under indie label Dying Giraffe Records is slated to hit the stores on September 6th of 2010. ” These songs have come together over the last year of being on and off the road. I wrote a bunch of them directly after the experience that inspired them. I remember being in Cologne, Germany and falling in love with a Swiss girl only to completely get my heart broken and coming back to the apartment one morning with no sleep and writing the track ” Heartache.” It’s capturing moments like that give this album it’s substance.

Savage has evolved from the once lead-singer and front man of Beggars Fortune to his own infusion of acoustic – pop – blues and soul. Throw in the occasional folk tune and you’ve got a wide variety of songs to choose from. Who knows how to describe exactly what his target audience is, he reaches so many different types of people with his live show and music. ” When I get on stage… i always get this feeling like someone lit a fire under my ass and it makes go crazy!” His reputation has become one of just something you have to experience in person to understand. There’s no “puffing” him up or acting like he’s bigger than he is, he’s simply a passionate artist who gives everything he has to his music and live performance. He’s played big and small stages all over Europe. From Admiral’s Palast in Berlin to the Paradiso in Amsterdam and every little house party and coffee shop you can find in between.

“Steve Savage from Nashville gives an energetic acoustic show at the Paradiso. He jumps up and down on stage, it’s a miracle no strings broke”
“The highlight of the evening comes when Steve Savage start playing on a chair in the middle of the Paradiso à la Patrick Watson” 3VOOR12
